JoJo’s World: WDW Dolphin Day 2

JoJo is having a sponsored stay at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. He and his girlfriend Krista wake up early to take advantage of the early theme park entry benefit that Disney resort guests receive.

There is a boat that he could take to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but JoJo doesn’t want to wait for it so he walks there instead. At the park, JoJo and Krista go through the Resort Guest line, but once inside, JoJo wishes he had gotten there earlier since a lot of guests are already in the park.

JoJo and Krista get in line for Slinky Dog Dash, although the end of the line is already outside of Toy Story Land. While waiting, JoJo uses Genie+ to book Tower of Terror for 10:15am. Krista says, “Honestly, I kind of feel like a real Disney-like vacationeer right now.” JoJo concurs, “We’re not locals today.”

At 8:30am, and Slinky Dog still hasn’t opened due to complications. JoJo considers leaving the long line to go on Toy Story Mania, which only has a 5 minute wait. By 8:48am, they finally make it up to the entrance of Slinky Dog Dash and by 9:10, they are ready to board. JoJo says, “This is a good way to start the day. I love this ride.”

After Slinky Dog Dash, JoJo notes it’s 9:14am and they’ve already done one of the biggest rides with their early entry magic hours.

After that, JoJo and Krista stop to meet Ariel from the live action Little Mermaid movie. The line is short since her meet and greet just opened. They also meet other characters like Woody, Jesse, and some Star Wars characters.

JoJo and Krista move on to use their Lightning Lane at Tower of Terror, avoiding the 70 minute standby wait time. After the ride, JoJo says it’s “always a good time” and laughs about the kids crying on the ride. “There was like three kids crying. It was hilarious. This is the one time I don’t feel bad for crying kids, because they’re gonna be okay,” JoJo says, enjoying the moment.

They use another Lightning Lane to ride Toy Story Mania, then go to dine at Hollywood & Vine. It’s character dining and the characters are dressed for Halloween. JoJo enjoys the experience and says, “By the way when the characters come out, they’re playing like spooky Halloween music. I love it!” He also like the lengthy interactions, noting that the characters are spending more time with guests since it’s still early.

After a full morning at Hollywood Studios, JoJo and Krista take the Friendship boat back to the Swan and Dolphin hotels. JoJo shows off the Dolphin’s’s amenities, including the spa, which he notes has a relaxing smell, and the gift shops. He sees Disney-themed mugs in the gift shop and says his former roommate Kyle Pallo left behind at least 10 mugs when he moved out. JoJo states firmly that he doesn’t want or need any more mugs. Krista shows a strong interest in a Stitch plush, but JoJo tells her, “You already have a cat, you don’t need another Stitch.”

They head to the newest part of the resort property, the Swan Reserve hotel. He explores the peaceful atmosphere, pool, outdoor bar, and restaurants at the Swan Reserve, which he has wanted to stay at ever since he saw it being constructed. They stop at the lounge Stir and try a honey-based cocktail called the Florida Beehive. “I can definitely taste the honey. It’s very refreshing,” JoJo remarks.

Back at the Dolphin, JoJo and Krista go to the Mexican restaurant Rosa Mexicano. JoJo tries the ribeye steak and says, “The flavor is just seeping out of the meat. You definitely don’t need to take steak sauce with this.” They take back to their room two full bags of leftover and end the evening.

At the end of the vlog, JoJo summarizes, “Swan and Dolphin – great spot, very close to both Hollywood Studios and Epcot, a ton of restaurants, a ton of entertainment, good places to drink. It’s a vibe and it’s not as expensive as some of the other value resorts.”
