JoJo’s World: Warner Bros World

JoJo and his friend Jake drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi to visit Warner Bros. World, which is known as the world’s largest indoor theme park. After the 50 minute drive there, they arrive and JoJo asks Jake how the heat feels. “Honestly, the heat’s good right now,” Jake replies. “It’s a little bit drier today. It’s not as humid as it was, maybe that’s because we’re in Abu Dhabi.”

Once inside, JoJo scans his online ticket and because of the low lighting inside, compares it to the Mexico pavilion in Epcot. They first head into the immersive Gotham City area. JoJo notes how the dark lighting and theming make him feel like he’s truly stepped into Gotham, stating “I don’t know, like the mood, the lighting changed . . . this is massive . . . this is the most I’ve ever felt like I’ve been in Gotham before!” They start off on the Scarecrow Scare Raid ride, which is a spinning ride that looks scarier than it actually is. JoJo says, “you start getting used to the spinning.” Still, it made him feel dizzy.

Next, they head over to the Batman Knight Flight simulator, where riders help Batman defeat The Joker. Afterwards, Jake rates it an 8 out of 10, but JoJo doesn’t accept his rating, saying “Hold on, hold on, not yet. Okay, remember, an 8 is like Tron, so we really have to dial this down.” JoJo gives it a 5 instead.

Moving to the Metropolis area, JoJo and Jake board the Green Lantern ride. JoJo compares it to Soarin’ in Epcot, except this ride vehicle for some reason was very shaky. Unimpressed, JoJo gives the ride a 2, while Jake adds “I mean I’m not the biggest Green Lantern fan, but it seemed like a weird storyline that we were watching.”

After meeting Supergirl, they enter the Superman 360: Battle for Metropolis show, a 360 degree 3d show of Superman battling villains, which Jake describes as “really good, actually.” Afterward, they watch the Celebration of Superheroes show on the main stage, with DC characters performing and battling villains again.

At the Cartoon Junction, in the Acme Factory, they experience the kiddie ride Tweety’s Wild Wockets, which has a 1.9 meter height limit that they apparently passed. They ride the other two kid’s rides in Acme (Daffy Jet-Propelled Pogo Stick and Ricochet Racin’ with Taz), but JoJo says he didn’t record on them due to young children being around. It’s amazing how being in a country where you could be in serious trouble with the authorities for recording people without their permission gives JoJo a sudden change of heart about the practice.

Another ride in the Cartoon Junction area is the shooting ride Ani-Mayhem, in which riders shoot packages with a bar code scanner to get them delivered. Afterward, JoJo complains “My fingers hurt. You have to really like click it a lot, more than any other shooter I’ve played in the past.”

JoJo and Jake encounter some long wait time on other rides in Cartoon Junction, so they both purchase “Flash” passes for $65 each, which allow them to get in the Flass pass line instead of standby. First, though, they go back to Gotham and eat at the Ace O’Clubs quick service restaurant, which has Indian cuisine.

After eating, they enter the town of Bedrock area, and JoJo compares it to stepping into Batuu at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. It’s one ride, Flintstones Bedrock River Adventure, is currently down, so they head next door to Dynamite Gulch to ride the rollercoaster Fast and Furry-ous. They visit the Yosemite Sam gift store and Jake tries on some Bugs Bunny ears.

They return to Cartoon Junction and ride Scooby Doo: The Museum of Mysteries. They like it a lot, and JoJo says, “You really felt like you were stepping into the story of Scooby Dooby Doo. It was an episode and we were part of it.” He scores it a 7 out of 10.

They have two more rides to do in the Cartoon Junction rides, and the first is Tom and Jerry Swiss Cheese Spin dark ride, which JoJo compares to Guardians of the Galaxy. In the queue, JoJo asks Jake which character is Tom and which is Jerry. The second ride is the Carousel, and Jake chooses to ride Tom the cat while JoJo hops onto Bugs Bunny. JoJo attempts to do Bugs’ voice but says, “I actually don’t do voice acting at all.”

Back in Bedrock, the The Flintstones log flume ride is now operating and they board it. During the splash from the drop, JoJo squeals from getting wet, but Jake tells him, “Actually, it’s not that bad.” The ride stops before it ends and they have to wait a while to get out. They give it a good rating, but JoJo opines, “Obviously, people who have seen that cartoon will definitely probably appreciate that ride a little bit more.”

They make a trip back to ride The Jetsons Cosmic Orbiter, and then cross back to Gotham to ride the final ride, The Riddler Revolution, which they were glad they went on because it’s “unique”.

After an encounter with the Flash, they end their day at the park. JoJo gives his review: “If you compare this to Disney or Universal Studios, of course you’re going to be a little disappointed, but this is a really well done theme park indoors. You know, theming good, not that many thrill rides, great for the family. If you’re coming and you’re seeking like adrenaline, Ferrari World’s probably a better option because they have the fastest roller coaster, which we’re going to.”
