JoJo’s World: Universal VIP Tour

JoJo Crichton is at Universal Studios Florida to do a VIP Experience tour. He mentions he has done one previously, saying, “I’ve done one of these before with Paul Abdul but that was definitely a very random and special VIP tour, so I’m excited to see how they normally go.”

JoJo is accompanied by his girlfriend Krista and they check in at guest relations to get their passes. The tour starts at 11am at Café La Bamba, where guests can have breakfast while they wait.

Once the tour steps off, JoJo remarks, “It’s definitely interesting, kind of moving at a group’s pace compared to my own vlogger self-pace, but for me today I don’t mind it.” JoJo states the tour will be a group tour with other people and there will be at least ten rides included.

He outlines the various tour types Universal offers, mentioning the private VIP tour, and “the Behind the Screams, which you actually go into the haunted houses during Halloween Horror Nights, and the RIP Tour, which is getting to cut the lines for the houses.”

The group heads to the Hogwarts Express train, on which they travel to Hogsmeade. Their first ride after that is Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure roller coaster. The tour guide leads them through the exit so they can bypass the 60 minute standby wait time and walk right onto the ride.

After that, JoJo mentions that the tour group was given a choice between the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride and the Flight of the Hippogriff. The group decides on the latter. JoJo agrees it’s the better option, stating enthusiastically that it is “so much better” than the Forbidden Journey ride. “Honestly, I do like this ride more than that ride.” For people on the tour who want to come back later and ride Forbidden Journey and still skip the line, JoJo states that their pass becomes an Express Pass after the VIP tour ends.

The next ride is the VelociCoaster, followed by Jurassic Park River Adventure. Krista decides to wear a poncho to try to avoid getting soaked. However, after the ride, she comments that she feels like she got more wet from sweating inside the poncho than she would have if she had just gotten splashed on the ride without it.

The group proceeds to Skull Island: Reign of Kong. JoJo remarks, “Not my favorite ride, but hey, I’ll go on if I don’t have to wait in line.” Spider-Man is next, and JoJo notes that there are four hidden Stan Lees in the attraction, which he points out. They also ride The Incredible Hulk Coaster, after which JoJo says he has a little bit of a headache.

As they’re walking, JoJo pleads with viewers to watch his vlog of the first night of Hollywood Horror Nights. He demands, “Go watch the video, please. It will help me out a lot. Do it!” This is typical of JoJo, not encouraging people to watch because it would be worth their while, but rather expecting that people should want to do things for him. In JoJo’s World, everything is about him, and everyone else is a NPC here to do things for him.

The group stops for lunch at Finnegan’s Bar and Grill. JoJo remarks that he has only ever had drinks there before, reflecting his priorities. Their VIP tour includes appetizers, entrées, non-alcoholic drinks and dessert. JoJo says he is tempted to get an alcoholic drink, of course, but he is abstaining in order to save his drinking for Hollywood Horror Nights.

Next they ride Villain-Con Minion Blast, which is his second time on this new ride. The first being the time he broke the rules about recording in the attraction during Technical Rehearsal.

After that, they go on Revenge of the Mummy. Backstage, JoJo spots some classic car props that will be decorating the streets for the Halloween Horror Nights event. E.T. Adventure is the next ride, which JoJo says is one of his favorites. He notes it was designed with input from Steven Spielberg. They exit through the gift shop, browsing merchandise. Men in Black Alien Attack is their next stop. Afterward, they head to Diagon Alley and Escape from Gringotts.

The tour ends and Krista says it was fun and she would recommend it. JoJo contrasts the structure of a group tour versus a private one, saying “I will say though that it was more structured. We didn’t really get to pick what rides we wanted to go on. Obviously the big ones like VelociCoaster and Hagrid’s, they’re going to get you on regardless.” He says it’s good for large families, “because it takes all the stress out of the theme park day, you know, traveling, getting around quick, lockers, waiting in lines.”

[3/5]  JoJo seems tired and unenthusiastic about being there for the tour. At the end, he says he’s going to bed. The vlog might have had more energy if he had postponed it to a time he wasn’t run down.
