JoJo’s World: Trying to Ride Splash Mountain

JoJo heads to Magic Kingdom for the next to last day of Splash Mountain. “I can’t believe this is happening,” he says, thinking about the end of the attraction.

Arriving at Magic Kingdom, he reflects on his favorite Splash Mountain memory. It’s when the ride broke down during a trip with his sister and uncle. He says it occurred in 2019, but his trip with his sister and Uncle Lenny occurred at the end of 2017, a year before JoJo began his DCP in January of 2019.

Splash Mountain’s wait time is 140 minutes when JoJo arrives. He meets up with friends Sean, Kristen, and Nate (Paging Mr. Morrow), and they debate whether or not to wait in the long line. Kristen humorously notes that one could watch the entire “Princess and the Frog” movie in less time.

As JoJo walks to the attraction, he is met by bad omens, such as the parade crowd dispersing in front of him after the parade had passed by and the lightning lane queue extending outside. “Oh, this was a bad idea,” he says worriedly.

The vlog becomes similar to a recent one where JoJo laments how bad his day, and his vlog, are going.

Sean, Kristen, and Nate decide not to wait for Splash Mountain and get on the railroad train instead. JoJo joins them and he gets off at Storybook Circus. There, he talks about new character meet and greets at Pete’s Silly Sideshow that include Minnie, Daisy, Goofy, and Donald. He also notes that Ariel’s Grotto is finally reopening that day.

JoJo’s thoughts turn to what will happen to wait times across the park after Splash Mountain closes. The people who would have been in line for that will be in line for all the other attractions instead.

Nate is out

He walks back to Splash Mountain and gets in the standby line when it’s an 80-minute wait. He is joined again by Kristen, Sean, and Nate. Nate eventually leaves the line without riding, and JoJo says in an inserted clip, “I wish I had followed Nate.”

To justify staying, the three discuss how they may have regretted it in twenty years if they had gotten out of line without riding the attraction one more time.

JoJo tries to entertain his friends during the wait by saying, “I spy with my little eye, something red.” They try to play it along, but the object turns out to be something not obvious and something orange.

Sadly, Splash Mountain breaks down, and they have to leave the line after waiting for 40 minutes. JoJo considers coming the next day and using Genie+ Lightning Lane as a resort guest to try ride the attraction.

After leaving the line, they watch a cavalcade in which Mulan says hi to JoJo by name, and Mary Poppins pretends to have tea with him. “That tea was good,” JoJo says, adding that the experience made him happy despite not being able to ride Splash Mountain.

At the end of the vlog, JoJo reiterates concerns about increased wait times at Magic Kingdom with the loss of Splash Mountain until Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens.
