JoJo’s World: Trying to Be Like Mr. Beast

In this vlog, JoJo announces to viewers his aspiration to become the “Mr. Beast” of Walt Disney World. He claims that he has given away over $2000 in free food and merchandise in 2022. “A million subscribers and all that would be cool too,” JoJo says, getting to the heart of the matter, “but that’s not why I want to be Mr Beast. He impacts so many people’s lives for the better.” JoJo apparently sees himself as being the same. He says some people already call the Mr. Beast of Disney World, but it’s not clear who those sycophants are.

At Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, in keeping with the theme, JoJo plans to give a custom gift to a lucky subscriber. However, the gift isn’t prepared yet and he plans to make it during the vlog. He meets up with Gabby, from his Disney Wish cruise, who will soon be working at Tokyo Disneyland. They visit Tatooine Traders, the Star Wars-themed store, where JoJo decides to give away a custom-built lightsaber.

The lightsaber’s creation is a group effort between Gabby and JoJo, with Gabby making most of the choices. They construct a double lightsaber, selecting an unusual concoction of different colors for the various parts. Gabby says, “This is gonna be a rainbow one.” JoJo starts to get concerned and asks, “Does it look good?” He reminds Gabby that this oddball result is “going to one of my loyal subscribers.” Eventually, JoJo intervenes and overrules one of the part selections. However, his choice is to make the selection even less consistent. (“Just to make it a little different, you got to spice it up a little bit.”) In the end, JoJo says, “I like it. I like it,” but follows that with, “Do I agree with all of Gabby’s choices…”

The total cost of the rainbow lightsaber, after tax, is about fifty dollars. Using a ploy to get Likes, JoJo says, “If this video gets 1500 likes, I’ll give away one of these bad boys,” pointing to a ready-made, $250 lightsaber.

JoJo walks around the park with the lightsaber, hoping to be recognized by a subscriber. He interacts with more people, including Denzel, who impresses JoJo with his Disney-themed outfit. JoJo asks Denzel if he is a subscriber, but embarrassingly, Denzel apparently subscribes to Kyle Pallo and not JoJo.

Gabby goes to the Sully character meet and greet location but it’s closed for the day. JoJo says she is sad about that, but she’s happy to see a big display for the Disney Wish. Today was her last day of employment on the Wish.

Eventually, JoJo encounters Manny, a subscriber who recognizes him. Manny proves he is an actual subscriber and becomes the recipient of the custom-built lightsaber. JoJo is excited to find someone in the park who recognizes him and subscribes to him, so that he can give away the lightsaber. (“You did it! You did it!”) Manny, a little unsure of the purpose of the whole thing, asks, “Did I win anything?” JoJo hands him the lightsaber thing that he and Gabby created, saying with relief, “It’s yours now.” Before letting Manny go, JoJo extracts an endorsement from him, with Manny telling viewers to subscribe to JoJo’s channel.

The night concludes with JoJo and his friends watching Fantasmic. As he bids farewell to Gabby, who is leaving for a new job at Tokyo Disneyland, he assures his viewers that they will see Gabby again when he travels to Japan.

Despite having claimed in the vlog that he loves giving things away and that “money is not the issue,” JoJo tells viewers, “Seriously, if you enjoyed this video, like it so I can give away more stuff, because it’s not cheap.”
