JoJo’s World: Traditions

JoJo Crichton of JoJo's World showing emotion

JoJo had an emotional time during his day at Traditions, the orientation/training that Disney cast members start their employment with, and he was in that kind of mood when he recorded his intro for this video. At home that evening, he records himself being teary-eyed as he says how excited he is to work for Disney. He says he worked really hard to get to where he is right now, and then goes on to acknowledge and thank his parents, friends and others who have taught him lessons that he has learned. He says the emotions hit him at Traditions when he realized that during his DCP he would be able to make people happy, and that is what he claims is all in general he wants to do in life.

The video goes back to the beginning of the day when he waves goodbye to his roommate Keith and boards the bus to Disney University. On the bus, he takes advantage of the other riders’ inability to get away from him and makes them part of his vlog. He roams the aisle pulling a stunt of saying hello to each of them, possibly for making friends/networking, possibly solely for vlog content.

True Words:

“We’re here. These people are like, ‘Thank God this guy [JoJo] is off the bus.’”

~ JoJo

At Disney University, before people go in, JoJo sees Meaghan again, and meets a new acquaintance, Jade, who will be a character performer at Magic Kingdom. Jade exuberantly says how super excited she is to do the role. Once inside and at some point during the Traditions process, JoJo is required to go to the restroom and shave his face to achieve the Disney Look. The clickbait title of this video suggests that JoJo was “pulled out of Traditions” and this incident must be what he was referring to.

After the training, JoJo runs into Von and Julia again, both having appeared in a previous video. Julia is a DCP blogger and JoJo tells her that she and him will be doing stuff together (we’ll see). JoJo also ran into someone who made him cry during Traditions, a fire dancer from Festival of the Lion King.

People are hungry, so JoJo goes to Disney Springs with Meaghan, Jade, Hayleigh, and a fourth woman who will be called Salted Cashews here, since she says it several times and her actual name is not known (JoJo didn’t think enough of her to introduce her to the viewers). They go to Chicken Guy and get chicken. Of the many sauces, JoJo called the Wasabi Honey interesting. After dinner, they shop at World of Disney and  JoJo buys, among other things, a black cap with a white Mickey Mouse silhouette. They get ice cream and walk through the parking garage to end the video.

[4/5]  JoJo captures the emotional impact of starting his Disney College Program Traditions day. His candid thoughts on achieving his dream of working for Disney make it a touching video. Meeting fellow cast members and exploring Disney Springs also showcase the magic of the experience. Returning viewers will appreciate JoJo’s vulnerability in sharing this significant milestone.
