JoJo’s World: Tokyo Trip Announcement

JoJo announces that he and his friend Jete are going on the most expensive trip he has ever taken, but he doesn’t reveal the destination right away. He says the idea of the trip came to them just 4-5 days ago, and it shows how impulsive the decision was. They are still doing planning, as JoJo shows himself and Jete doing some research online to check visa, vaccination and testing requirements for the mystery country.

Besides the scenes of JoJo and Jete trip planning at JoJo’s apartment, the vlog includes interspersed scenes of JoJo at Epcot with his girlfriend Krista. JoJo uses the backdrop of the World Showcase pavilions as part of his big reveal of which country he and Jete are traveling to.

Jete looks up flights on his laptop. The trip will be expensive, but JoJo justifies the cost as being for his job, so basically a business expense. When selecting seats, they discuss upgrading so they can sit together. JoJo explains that it’s so no random passenger is forced to sit next to one of them when they are in vlogging mode. “You know, as a Disney vlogger, as someone who actually cares about the people he’s around and like everyone he comes across, I try not to be an annoying vlogger,” JoJo says, unable to keep a straight face. He then adds, “No, but in all seriousness, we want to be considerate with the people around us, so yeah, let’s upgrade.”

The “No, but in all seriousness…” is the closest JoJo has come to admitting that he’s not honest whenever he says that he’s considerate of others while he is vlogging.

JoJo says he will upgrade to First Class if this vlog gets 2000 Likes. Jete says JoJo is just looking for an excuse to go First Class.

Jete says they are able to do this trip because of viewers. To JoJo, Jete says, “Listen, I got to say this. You got some of the best fans ever, man. They’re so caring and intelligent. They just love to give you love and I appreciate that.” Jete is far more believable than JoJo giving lip service to appreciating the people who support him. In response, JoJo says, “I just enjoy people who don’t go out of their way to be negative to others.” What he means is that he can’t handle any criticism of anything he says or does and he doesn’t want to hear any critical feedback from anyone. He couches that avoidance strategy as a “positivity” theme.

Back at Epcot, JoJo makes his way around the World Showcase pavilions, in each one saying it’s not the country he is traveling to. Finally, at the Japan Pavilion, JoJo reveals that Tokyo is the destination. At the Katsura Grill in the Japan Pavilion, JoJo says excitedly, “I just realized I’m going to be able to have sushi and ramen in Japan. It better be good. I’m a huge ramen fan, specifically udon noodles, so we’ll see.”

Back at the apartment, JoJo calls his dad to share the news. His dad is surprised, and asks, “Why are you going to Japan?”

They finish booking their flights and their Airbnb. The trip will be 17 hours and cost $1400. The Airbnb cost is $700 split between them.

At the end, JoJo asks his viewers in which Tokyo Disney park should they do an “all rides” vlog.
