JoJo’s World: Tokyo Disneyland Fireworks

JoJo ends his first day at Tokyo Disneyland with a vlog of his evening. Trying to get in a few more attractions on his first day, JoJo and the rest go on the Jungle Cruise. JoJo mentions that it’s only his second ride of the day (the first being Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, seen in the previous video, and not counting the two Stitch attractions they experienced).

On the Jungle Cruise, JoJo realizes that the skipper will be speaking Japanese. Since he doesn’t understand what is being said, he doesn’t know if the ride is supposed to be funny or not. After the ride, he says he did not hear one person laugh. Either way he likes it and thinks it looks cool at night.

In Fantasyland, they ride Pinocchio’s Daring Journey. Afterward they go back to Gaston’s Tavern to rest and they all look really tired.

At this point in the vlog, post-trip JoJo cuts in to introduce a section of video from his first day at DisneySea. It’s clips which were not on the SD card he lost.

View of DisneySea’s Hotel MiraCosta:

“These buildings are not just like facades. Like you can go into them. Like I see people in the window. I don’t know if there’s an actual hotel here or something. I don’t know what’s going on. I think this is a hotel.”

~ JoJo

At DisneySea, JoJo and Jete are in wonder from being in a Disney park that’s so different than any other they have been to. As they enter into Mediterranean Harbour, JoJo is amazed by the view of the volcano, Mount Prometheus in Mysterious Island. Before they do anything, JoJo offers up his initial assessment. He says that Tokyo Disneyland still has a lot of familiarity, like with the replica of Cinderella Castle. However, at DisneySea, he says, “Totally not a Disney Vibe, but like not in a bad way. This is like really refreshing.”

JoJo looks forward to seeing the nighttime show, Believe! Sea of Dreams. Looking at merchandise related to the show, he points to what is actually a CD of the show’s music and says, “I think this is like a little journal.”

They go to Mamma Biscotti’s Bakery for breakfast, where JoJo gets a chicken danish. He says they made a mistake of not eating the previous day (although JoJo did eat, several times, as seen on the vlogs of the day).

After eating, Jete talks about the vibe of the park. Then he and JoJo head down a walkway and the video abruptly ends with post-trip JoJo hawking his “sword in the stone” cap merch.

The Tokyo Disneyland video resumes, and the trio boards It’s A Small World. JoJo likes the inclusion of Disney characters in the scenes of the various countries. He wishes they added characters to the Magic Kingdom version, although in the past he as expressed that he doesn’t care for the ride. He says again: “I hate Walt Disney World’s. It’s not my vibe.”

They get in position for the evening’s fireworks. JoJo is confused, since he doesn’t see other people waiting for it. There’s no crowd near the castle. He believes the fireworks will be there, along with castle projections. The show starts, and JoJo, Jete and Gabby watch the fireworks. When it ends, Jete says he’s not going to say anything bad about the Disney brand, but the fireworks could have been better. Gabby said it was good, but she wanted more. JoJo says it’s the weakest/worst Disney fireworks, expressing, “That was kind of a letdown.”

Review of Tokyo Disneyland fireworks:

“Those are the worst fireworks I’ve seen for Disney. In general, they’re probably, they’re still amazing, but like, when you’re comparing it to Disney standard, that ain’t it. That ain’t it.”

~ JoJo

They walk with the crowds to the exit and return to their hotel. The next morning, JoJo says he heard that the previous fireworks show at Tokyo Disneyland was better.

JoJo and Jete sit in their hotel room and discuss the previous day before they get ready to go to DisneySea. JoJo thinks he will go back to the park the following day to do all the attractions they missed on the first day.
