JoJo’s World: Return to Cozumel 2024

JoJo and his friend Jete are on day three of their Disney Dream cruise. The ship is at Cozumel, Mexico, and JoJo states that his and Jete’s goal that day is to go to the local Señor Frogs. “I can actually see Señor Frogs from here, it’s calling my name, the JoJo and Jete excursion,” JoJo says from his cabin balcony. JoJo adds that they may also be attending a wedding on the ship.

JoJo visits the Oceaneer Club during an open house, as he normally can’t go in since it’s for kids. The club has several themed areas, including a Magic PlayFloor, a Star Wars section with R2-D2, a Pixie Hollow fairy forest area, a Disney Infinity game room, and a room themed to Andy’s room from Toy Story. There is hand washing station that is required to be used prior to entry, and it’s one that does the washing for you. “This is so much better than normal washing hands. Wait, I’m having so much fun,” JoJo says, enjoying one of the few things in the club he can participate in.

Next, JoJo gets a cheeseburger and fries at Tow Mater Grill at Flo’s Cafe. Jete joins him, but JoJo is surprise because he thought Jete was going to Cabanas to eat. Jete replies that he had forgotten that Cabanas closes at 11am and since it’s past that, he missed out.

After eating, JoJo surveys the pool deck. He observes that many guests stayed on the ship rather than getting off in Mexico. He notes, “It seems like a decent amount of people actually stayed on the ship compared to getting off from Mexico, which makes sense, especially for a Disney cruise.”

Jete and JoJo then head to the gym, where Jete says he needs to get a little bit of a pump. “What are we going to do?” JoJo asks. “Probably just some pull-ups,” Jete responds. JoJo, on the other hand, can’t work out since he’s wearing open-toed shoes, which aren’t allowed.

After as stop at their room for JoJo to fix up his hair and get his ID, he and Jete attempt to find the Vibe teen club for its open house. They get lost along the way. They eventually locate it at the front of the ship with the entrance for the lounge on deck 4 and the club itself on deck 5.

The Vibe club impresses them with amenities like a sundeck, pool, video games, and activities. “I’m just jealous of children, I could have made so many friends as a kid,” JoJo remarks while exploring the club.

Out on deck, looking at boats going by, JoJo realizes it’s time for the wedding. “We’re about to be late for the wedding, bro. We have like 7 minutes,” JoJo says. “I’m never late. I’m not going to start today,” Jete exclaims as he quicksteps to go back inside.

The wedding takes place in the atrium, next to the grand staircase. The wedding party and guests are dressed appropriately, but JoJo and Jete must not have been advised of what to wear, since neither is dressed up and Jete is sleeveless. The couple exchanges vows, and the officiant pronounces them husband and wife.

JoJo and Jete reflect on the experience of attending the wedding of someone they just met, with JoJo saying, “I was excited to go, but I didn’t realize how invested I was going to become.” Jete added, “Wow, I just, like, after meeting the groom last night, l like, we’re best friends, so like, watching him get married, I was like . . . like I actually felt, like, I like, belonged.”

Leaving the ship, JoJo realizes their ship is the only one docked at that port (Punta Langosta) that day. JoJo notices the route to exit to the town has changed. “The fact that we are privileged enough to come to Cozumel, Mexico so many times that we can notice differences,” JoJo muses.

They arrive at Señor Frogs, which notes has more of a restaurant vibe than a spring break vibe that day, due to the limited number of people disembarking. JoJo is undeterred, and they sit at the bar and order drinks, despite JoJo not wanting to drink that early (1pm). “JoJo was talking about ‘I’m not going to drink tomorrow,’” Jete recollects. He states that he told JoJo, “We’re going to Frogs. You’re drinking. Here we are.”  JoJo toasts, “Cheers to getting married. Not us, but …”

Leaving the bar, they walk down the street to another bar that they have made at tradition when visiting Cozumel. JoJo gives a shout out to their friend J for helping him feel comfortable exploring the area. As they approach their destination, JoJo says, “If y’all are fans of the channel, you guys know where I’m going: freaking No Name.” It’s the No Name Bar, a spot frequented by cruise ship crew on their days off.

Their server brings them drinks, and Jete asks, “What is this?” JoJo replies, “Margarita in Mexico!”  They enjoy their drinks, some guacamole and chips, and meeting fellow cruisers. Talking about the new Disney Treasure cruise ship with some cruisers, JoJo promises that if this vlog gets two thousand likes, he and Jete will go on it. Summing up their time at the bar, JoJo states. “So, to be honest, we made just a bunch of friends from the ship … we’re hanging out … No Name Bar, it’s literally a vibe.”

Heading back to the ship, Jete stops in a tattoo shop for information, having considered getting one on a previous trip to China. JoJo’s voice is going from all the fun. “Tonight is pirate night. Argh, we might see Jack Sparrow and wear a bandana,” he says, before signing off with his usual tag line.
