JoJo’s World: Rare Event at Hollywood Studios

JoJo is at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where he indicates that this will be a “things I don’t usually do” vlog. It’s a theme creators use when they have completely run out of ideas.

It’s hot outside, with a temperature of 94 degrees, so JoJo gives viewers a “tip” for staying cool: walk through stores (for the air conditioning). It looks like there will be nothing of value in this vlog, and JoJo admits there’s not much motivation: “This is technically like my break day where I don’t vlog, but my one friend wanted to say hi to me, so I came out and I was like, ‘I guess I’ll vlog.’”

JoJo says what he should be doing at the moment is trying to get tickets for the Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween event at Disneyland. Tickets are going on sale, but have been temporarily paused. JoJo says, “It’s really hard to, you know, focus on this while walking around in the park.”

JoJo asks viewers if they have heard about the first-time-ever Christmas event taking place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. He says he’s really excited for it because it means he can have alcohol while singing Christmas carols. JoJo has explained before that he prefers Hollywood Studios over Magic Kingdom because he can’t easily get a drink at MK.

He wanders through the gift shop at Tower of Terror and when he comes out, he runs into a character-palooza. It’s a rare event in this park. He meets Stitch, Tigger, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Pluto, and Chip and Dale. JoJo says that made his day.

Next JoJo does the first of three things at the park he doesn’t usually do: Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. After the show, he shares a story about his last day working in custodial, saying, “Fun little story. When I used to do custodial full time here, someone like severely hurt their head in there. Basically, a kid was standing on his parents’ legs and he fell head first into the bench. I don’t need to get into the gory details. He was okay, but it was a messy day. It was actually my last day of being custodial ever before I went to entertainment so I always think about that.”

A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration:

“It’s always good, unlike Lightning McQueen where I’m just like, ‘Uh, I don’t really want to be here.’ Every time I’m in there, I want to sing. I laugh at their jokes. They’re always different. You never know what they’re gonna say, which gives it a lot of replayability. I guess I should go in there more often.”

The second thing he does that he doesn’t usually do is going to the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, a show he used to attend frequently during his college program. He enjoys going there today and expresses that he should do it more often.

The third and final thing JoJo doesn’t usually do is Muppet Vision 3D. He says he hasn’t seen in about two years.

For all three of the infrequent experiences, JoJo explains his hesitancy by saying, “A lot of the things I don’t usually do basically just require me to sit down and I’m just, I’m on-the-go type of guy.”

After Muppets, JoJo reveals that tickets for Oogie Boogie Bash went on sale while he was recording the vlog. However, the website is currently experiencing issues so he may not be able to get a ticket. Kyle was going to buy him a ticket, but JoJo didn’t answer the phone when Kyle called him about it.

At the end of the vlog, JoJo reflects on his feelings of disconnection after returning from traveling abroad, as well as his struggle to regain his groove. He says he has been sleeping in, getting up to do a little editing and not much else.

Despite his initial reluctance to vlog because of the heat, he expresses his love for his job as a content creator. He also indicates his appreciation for the interactions he had this day with the characters.

JoJo expresses his intention to take some time for himself and spend more time with his friends. Since he already spends most of his time “for himself”, it’s not clear how much more additional time he can spend continually focused on himself.

Finally, JoJo says his favorite thing he did that day was the Frozen show. Also, that he won’t be going to the Muppet show or Lightning McQueen for a little while.
