JoJo’s World: House Hunting

JoJo’s introduces the vlog by saying, “with the successful YouTube career happening right now,” he’s shopping for a house. He explains that he will be using his friend Zane Burk as his realtor to show him around.

The first house they look at is in Windermere, which Zane describes as “one of the most upscale areas here on Orlando.” The house is large and modern, and upon walking in, JoJo says, “this place is absolutely insane!”

The first room is a home office space. Zane calls it a “vlog room”, a place for JoJo to edit his vlogs. JoJo can feel it, saying, “I just feel all the views and subscribers coming, right here, getting it done.”

Zane then show JoJo the master bathroom, and he’s even more excited. “Do you know that, like, my favorite thing about Disney staycations is the bathroom?” he asks Zane. Zane enthusiastically replies, “Well, you got a Disney staycation every day in here!”

They go out the back. Besides the pool, JoJo notices an outdoor grill. That prompts him to reveal that he doesn’t cook at home because his kitchen is dirty. “You know, between Dan and Kyle . . . we’re all cool with the house being a little dirty,” he confesses. However, JoJo suggests that is he had a place for himself, it would be different and he would start cooking.

Also, while contemplating the pool and its proximity to the house, JoJo asks if he owned it, would he get in trouble if he jumped from the roof into the pool. Zane is like, “It would be your house, bro…”

As they continue the tour, JoJo remarks how he loves modern houses and that he likes this one with its bare floors and high ceilings. Upstairs, there’s an area that JoJo thinks could be his “TikTok” room, where he would set up a ring light and record. He walks out on to a balcony from which he looks down at the pool. There he confirms, “And yeah, I can totally see myself trying to jump from this roof into the pool. Yeah, you know, for legal purposes, I definitely wouldn’t do that, but like, dang.”

At this point, JoJo is ready to ask about the price, which he’s worried about. Zane tells him the price is $1.35 million. JoJo pivots aways by saying, “You know, we do have two other properties to see, right?”

The next house is in the Dr. Phillips area. It’s much less expensive, at $529,000. Zane explains the importance of location, and says the area is “one of the most sought-after suburbs in Central Florida and in this Orlando area.” He tells JoJo that because of the location, he could find the same house somewhere else for $100,000 less.

They both agree that the house has a “retro” vibe. It has a pool, and Zane explains that a pool adds $50k to $75k, so if someone doesn’t need a pool, they shouldn’t look at houses with one. JoJo says he does like pools, and this one “do be fire”. However, JoJo says the rooms of the house remind him of his grandma, and that summarizes JoJo’s view that the house is retro.

JoJo is intrigued enough with the house to have Zane explain to him the concept of a down payment, but JoJo starts questioning whether he’s even ready to own a house.

They go on to the third house, which is in Williamsburg. Zane describes it as “a very peaceful area. Again, it’s one of those gems that is within everything. I’m, you know, within 25 minutes of downtown Orlando. I’m within 20 minutes of Disney World, Universal, all that good stuff.” JoJo likes the house, but tells Zane that next time, they shouldn’t start by looking at a million dollar house. Seeing that one first, it’s affecting how he sees the other ones by comparison.

JoJo brings the vlog to a close, and Zane asks him which house is he counting to be an offer on. JoJo tells him that he has learnd a lot from Zane that day, but he isn’t ready to make an offer. He says he needs to talk to his dad, and Dan (who JoJo apparently thinks might go in with him on a house purchase) and Kyle, who JoJo says, “might know a thing or two.”

Zane end the vlog with the outro, “Welcome to House Hunters: JoJo’s World Edition”.

[5/5]  This is an informative vlog, with Zane providing information about house buying and about three specific areas around Orlando. It’s a mutually beneficial collaboration. JoJo uses Zane for content and Zane uses JoJo to promote his services as a realtor.
