JoJo’s World: H2O Glow After Hours 2022

JoJo excited to be back at Typhoon Lagoon water park for the season opener of the H2O Glow After Hours event. The event will be every Saturday night through end of August. He’s joined by longtime friend and former roommate Austin. JoJo reminds Austin (and viewers) that “it’s been so long since you’ve been on the vlog.”

They get their glow bands and enter the park. As they walk around, JoJo enjoys the pre-party vibe. He explains to viewers what he will be looking for during the event and says the goal of the evening is to tell viewers if the event is worth it.

JoJo spots the DJ booth and sees characters Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy come on stage to dance. JoJo dances a little, but says he has to “save some of my energy for later when it actually gets dark.”

While waiting for the event to start, JoJo checks out all the special menus at the quick services locations. There’s food and drink items on the menus that are specific for the event. JoJo notes that the special offerings all seem to be brightly colored, in keeping with the glow theme.

Next they try some of the rides, starting with Humunga Kowabunga. Dual water slides allow JoJo and Austin to race, and Austin gets to the bottom first.

They go to the wave pool, which Austin says it the best thing at the park. After being hit by a few of the waves, JoJo says, “We’re getting beat up, and I absolutely love it!”

It’s time for drinks, and JoJo and Austin go to High N Dry, where Austin gets the Moonlight Mudslide. JoJo tells him he needs an alcoholic drink to ease the pain from getting scratched up in the wave pool. JoJo gets the Pineapple Crusher Margarita, which has a “sweet spicy salt” rim.

They also get nachos while visiting friends at one of the cabanas.

After eating, JoJo is please to find that wait times have now dropped. He advises future event attendees, “Just move around. Don’t wait in lines, cause there’s not enough people in the park to have long lines all night.”

They take a raft up Miss Adventure Falls, and as cold water splashes them in the dark, JoJo is laughing and screaming, “I don’t like this! I don’t like this!”

On Keelhaul Falls, JoJo yells some more. “I love water park rides at night! Where are we going? I don’t see anything! It’s so scary, and I’m going backwards! Help me!” he exclaims. After the ride, Austin says about the nighttime experience, “It’s more fun I think, but it’s a little bit scarier too.”

Next is Mayday Falls. At the end of the slide, JoJo says, “That slide is nuts! It’s bumpy, it’s dark, like I was scared. I was screaming.”

They return to the wave pool and enjoy the really warm water. “It literally feels like a bathtub,” JoJo says. They play in the waves and JoJo vibes to the music from the nearby DJ.

They leave the wave pool, and with closing time approaching, they go to the last ride of the night, Crush ‘n’ Gusher.

H2O Glow:

“There’s actually a lot to do here. If you want to get alcohol, you can just chill by the stand and drink. If you want to go into the wave pool, and be warm, that’s there. If you want to dance, you can be on the dance party and meet some characters.”

~ JoJo

JoJo and Austin conclude the vlog with JoJo saying the event was “so much fun” and that they got to go on everything with little or no wait time. He emphasizes that the theming for the event is “amazing”. He also advises to come to the event early. It starts at 8pm, but you can enter the park with the ticket at 6pm.

He ends with, “Was it worth it? 100%.”
