JoJo’s World: Goodbye to Dan

JoJo starts off the vlog by saying, “Today we are checking into the Boardwalk, one of my favorite Resorts.” He goes on to say that his friend Ryan has already checked in, implying that they are sharing a stay. However, after looking at a few parts of the resort, JoJo reveals that Ryan is checked into a Cottage Suite, which only sleeps two. The two would be Ryan and his girlfriend, so JoJo misled viewers by saying “we are checking into the Boardwalk”.

JoJo enters the suite and finds not only Ryan and his girlfriend, but also Farris and Jamari. JoJo does a tour of the suite and he is amazed about how nice and spacious the two floor suite is. “Yeah, I don’t understand when you get rooms like this how can you even go to the parks, especially if it’s a hot day,” he remarks.

After the tour, he records a “podcast” with Ryan and Farris. JoJo shows that he posted it on his second channel.

Ryan and JoJo leave the suite to get on the Skyliner. They use it to visit Dan, who is having a staycation at Art of Animation. On board, JoJo tells Ryan, “Honestly, anytime we can ride the Skyliner and like, relax, it’s fun, you know?”

JoJo enjoys the view of the France pavilion, saying, “I do love this view of “Paris”. I’m already missing it. I want to go back already.” Considering a good part of his time in the city appeared to be walking around and drinking, there would be a lot left for him to see there.

At the Art of Animation pool bar, JoJo and Ryan meet up with Dan Jansson. It’s Dan’s birthday. Dan, who is with his girlfriend, Bailey, notes that it’s his first Disney staycation that isn’t just part of a JoJo staycation. JoJo calls attention to something else noteworthy, saying, “So this is really cool. Ryan’s meeting Dan… two great personalities who have been on my vlog.”

JoJo buys Dan a drink and sings Happy Birthday to him. They talk about the possibility of Dan taking a cruise with JoJo on the Icon of the Seas, which is expected to start sailing with passengers in 2024. Dan wonders contemplatively, “Are we even going to be alive then?” Ryan laughs loudly at Dan, and says derisively, “That’s like, I don’t know, it’s like in six months, so I don’t know. I mean, I hope!”

Ryan disappears and JoJo goes on a little tour of Dan and Bailey’s Little Mermaid themed room. Later, the three take the Skyliner to Epcot where JoJo, unplanned, joins the other two’s dinner reservation at Tappan Edo. Dan and JoJo reminisce about the last time they ate there together, with Austin, over a year ago. JoJo enjoys his salad, volcano roll, and steak entree. After dinner, the staff give Dan a birthday dessert.

After dinner, JoJo and Dan recap Dan’s life updates for viewers. JoJo asks Dan why he isn’t seen as much on the vlogs anymore. Dan mocks JoJo’s Peter Pan Syndrome by replying, “Because I have a girlfriend and I’m 27.” JoJo reacts by sheepishly looking away.

JoJo says there is something than Dan’s parents don’t know yet that JoJo won’t reveal on the vlog. He says he won’t reveal it, even though Dan revealed something about him on a livestream. JoJo is referring to the “Eggstravaganza” livestream in which Dan confirmed that Krista is JoJo’s girlfriend, even though every one with working eyes, ears, and a brain was already aware of that. He wants to maintain the fantasy that as long as he doesn’t call her his girlfriend in public, then no one will know it’s true.

JoJo says goodbye to Dan and Bailey and returns to the Boardwalk. He talks about the event that Ryan is hosting at Atlantic Dance Hall the next evening. “I’m gonna vlog that. It might be a crazy fun Disney themed party, or it might be a bust,” he says, unsure of the outcome.

[3/5]  It’s a transition point, leaving behind college buddy Dan, and moving forward with his newer friends, like Ryan. There’s the awkwardness in the scene with Dan and Ryan, like a new wife being around her husband’s ex. The video is worth watching for fans of Dan and those wanting to know what he’s been up to.
