JoJo’s World: Freedom of the Seas 2

JoJo is on a 3-night cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas. He’s with his girlfriend Krista, and it’s her first time on a cruise.

On day 2, they head to breakfast at the Windjammer buffet, and it’s all new to Krista. “I feel like I just walked into a whole new part of the ship.” JoJo comments that the restaurant is very crowded, more than the last time he was on a RC cruise.

As they look out over the deck, they glimpse Royal Caribbean’s private island CocoCay in the distance. “It looks really cool,” Krista remarks. They disembark and walk onto the island. “So I don’t know what we’re going to do. We didn’t book anything,” JoJo says.

Unlike the previous day which was cloudy, the weather is now sunny and hot. JoJo and Krista spend time in the Oasis Lagoon pool, which has a live DJ playing music. Looking around at the crowded pool area, JoJo comments “I’m not gonna lie this is the largest pool party I’ve seen.” He compares it to Spring Break.

Rather than going to the packed swim-up bar by the beach, JoJo decides “One, it is extremely packed right now, and two, it’s just not the vibe today. We’re just chilling.”

When asked how it feels to be on a private island, Krista replies that it doesn’t seem real yet. “So in my brain I haven’t processed it, so I’m going to process it next week,” she explains.

JoJo reflects, “We had a good time. You know, I think at the end of the day, when you go on these private islands, you gotta pick what you want to do. Zip lining, water slides, chilling at the beach, and today we decided to just have a fun evening at the Oasis Lagoon.”

Back on the ship, they both go down a water slide, with Krista telling JoJo that she beat him. JoJo tries the FlowRider surfing simulator again, which he has done once before. “I was pretty solid, right?” he asks, after managing not to get knocked over.

It is formal night on the cruise, so JoJo and Krista dress up for dinner. JoJo orders minestrone soup and lasagna, while Krista gets vegan spaghetti. After dinner, they head to the Royal Theater to see the stage show “Once Upon a Time.” Krista enjoys her first ever cruise ship show, especially the fairytale characters in it.

Returning to their room, Krista squeals with delight seeing a towel shaped like an elephant on the bed. She names it Antoine.

They go to watch the ship’s adult scavenger hunt game show called “Quest.” Before it starts, the host tells the audience that if they see something that offends them, they can leave. JoJo, still smarting over recent criticism, says the same applies to people who don’t like his content: “You can leave!”

During Quest, the audience is asked to bring various items on stage, including the pants that men are wearing. Krista asks JoJo why he didn’t take his pants off. “Ain’t no way!” JoJo exclaims. One man loses track of his pants. “It’s like your worst nightmare! You’re pantsless in front of a crowd!” JoJo remarks, somewhat explaining his inhibition about removing his own pants.

After the show, Krista gambles away $20 of JoJo’s money in the casino, retaining just 64 cents.
