JoJo’s World: Disney’s Boardwalk Inn

After spending the day at Magic Kingdom, including riding Splash Mountain on its last day, JoJo checks in late at the Boardwalk Inn. He starts with a little tour of the lobby and the new coffee shop. He then heads outside to see the view. He goes out on the boardwalk to watch the entertainment, and also to show the food and drink options.

JoJo explains his dream of partying at Jellyrolls night club and then staying at the Boardwalk Inn that night rather than returning home. He points out that some things have changed since his dream started during his DCP. He claims he doesn’t party as much as he used to, he doesn’t have as wide a circle of friends as before, and Jellyrolls, from his point of view, is now not as popular. Nevertheless, he’s going to make it happen and see if fulfilling his dream is what he hoped it would be.

One Man’s Dream:

“When I first got down to Orlando, Florida, on the college program in 2019, the one bar I heard of that I had to go to was Jellyrolls, so I got there as quick as I could and it was a blast. Literally, I have so many stories that are appropriate, and not appropriate, for the vlog, but every time I left Jellyrolls at the end of the night, I would see the beautiful Boardwalk club and I’m like, ‘Dang. You know what would be so cool? If I could just pass out.’”

~ JoJo

JoJo start his night of drinking at AbracadaBar, where he gets a “Conjurita”. He says, “Ooo, it’s so purple and pretty and sparkly, I love it!” He does some magic with the assistance of the bartender, which results in his drink becoming a lighter color. JoJo says it’s his best drink in 2023, because of the trick.

While at the bar, JoJo tells viewers that this vlog is posted on the day he leaves for Tokyo. He says that he will not be posting his vlogs of the trip until after he returns. He then shows various decorative items on display at the bar and a server explains the various movies and other Disney things they tie to. Some of things are the potion from The Emperor’s New Groove, Aladdin’s lamp, Magic Gumbo from The Princess and the Frog, a circus ball for Dumbo, and a set of playing cards whose values make up the date for the last SpectroMagic parade.

After watching some more entertainment on the boardwalk, looking at the art gallery, the pool, and the Belle Vue Lounge, JoJo finally goes to his room. He does a room tour and then his friends start showing up. First is Zane, who does a bed check (“conforms to my body”), followed by Farris, Jamari, and Gretchen. JoJo disrespects Gretchen by turning the camera away from her when she’s talking, mid-sentence, as he does it to her several times in the vlog. Later, Parker, Parker’s brother Sam, Nick, and Krista show up.

They all go to Atlantic Dance Hall, to Nick’s surprise, as he was thinking they were going to Jellyrolls. Farris reassures him by exclaiming that they would be there for only “ten minutes!” Inside, JoJo notes the place has awesome music but not enough people. They drink and dance on the dance floor. Alice Clark Payne and Emily Nelson join.

Everyone leaves Atlantic Dance Hall and goes to Jellyrolls, where JoJo admits there are a lot of people there, despite his previous statement that it was no longer popular. After getting a drink, JoJo records one of the dueling piano players, who says (jokingly?), “Please don’t. I don’t want any video documentation of this.” They drink and listen to the music.

After the bar closes and the lights are on, JoJo says it’s the moment he would usually go home. However, now he can fulfill his dream and return with his friends to his Boardwalk Inn room. A large group goes with JoJo to the resort, but if all could or did fit in his room, it’s not known, as the video abruptly switches to the next morning.

JoJo gets coffee at the new Carousel Coffee shop (“I got myself a cold brew. I am comfortable.”) After that, he goes to the Boardwalk Deli for breakfast and eats his croissant and orange juice outside by the water. He ends the vlog by giving the Boardwalk Inn an 8 out of 10 and saying he has fulfilled his dream.
