JoJo’s World: DAK Riding Every Ride

JoJo Crichton and his friend Ryan do a “riding every ride” challenge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. JoJo has done this challenge at DAK before, but since his average vlog view count is lagging and he has done well with these types of vlogs in the past, that may be why he’s doing it again. Timing seems important this go around, to complete it as quickly as possible. JoJo says they are “using everything at our disposal” including Disney Genie+ service, Individual Lightning Lane, and rope drop, to accomplish it.

They arrive at the park early, but since they are non-resort guests, they are forced to wait at the early entry checkpoint. JoJo laments, “It’s so rough watching all the early entry people walk by. You just know the lines are getting longer.” They discuss their strategy for the day, planning to start with the Flight of Passage ride since it gets crowded as the day progresses.

The adventure begins at 7:59, a minute earlier than planned. They walk briskly towards Flight of Passage, with JoJo nervously stating, “the line is getting longer with every passing minute.” They use the Lightning Lane service for the ride, bypassing a 65-minute wait, and are happy to get what they consider to be the best seats in the attraction. JoJo reminisces about coming to this ride with friends during his DCP.

They have a Lightning Lane for the Na’vi River Journey ride, but instead decide to walk over to the Kilimanjaro Safaris, since the wait time is currently low there. On the ride, they see the usual animals, like rhinos, zebras, giraffes, and elephants. An ostrich blocks the path at one point, and JoJo, somewhat frustrated, says, “This ostrich is slowing us down. Literally walking on our path. Literally just standing there, huh.” A worker makes clicking sounds to draw it away and calls it “Rizzo”.

Another monkey wrench is that Ryan had a condition for joining the adventure: meeting Mickey and Minnie in their safari outfits at Adventurers Outpost. JoJo initially resists, but eventually gives in. When they get there, Ryan tattles on JoJo to Mickey and Minnie, saying, “He did not want to come meet you and I said, ‘We can’t do Disney World without meeting you guys.’” JoJo apologizes to Mickey.

Next, they decide to go on the Kali River Rapids ride, even though JoJo doesn’t want to get wet so early in the morning. They ride it because it has a short wait time of 10 minutes. JoJo jokingly says, “Ryan was like, ‘wait, we’re going on the water ride?’” indicating Ryan’s reluctance to ride the attraction and get wet. They get a raft to themselves, and JoJo tries to distract Ryan from the impending soaking by reassuringly saying, “This isn’t a water ride. It’s a nice scenic view of the park… and all the deforestation they’re doing around America and Everest.” They get a bit wet during the ride, but they take it in stride.

They head back to the Valley Mo’ara for the Na’vi River Journey ride. It has a 65-minute wait, but they have Lightning Lane for it. After that, Ryan takes a snack break and gets Dippin’ Dots. They then go on the Dinosaur ride, their fifth ride of the day, which is a bit bumpy and leaves JoJo and Ryan shaken with feeling head spinning. JoJo says they will next go on the Triceratops Spin ride, and Ryan replies, “Oh, so we’re dizzy and then we’re gonna keep spinning??”

They briefly stop at The Boneyard Fossil Fun Site. Since they are speed running, they don’t spend much time there. JoJo says it’s not a ride, but Ryan says it’s one of the most fun attractions at Animal Kingdom. They move on to watch the “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” show, which JoJo isn’t sure if it counts as a ride. He includes it anyway to be thorough.

At noon, JoJo says, “It’s 12 o’clock on the dot. The energy is starting to deplete. How much we got left?” Ryan replies, “We’ve only got a couple things left.” They take the Harambe Railway to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, where they see various animals and discuss the size of the Animal Kingdom park. At Rafiki’s Planet Watch, they decide to pet an animal, which JoJo declares is a necessary step for anyone speed running Animal Kingdom in the future. They visit the petting area and spend some time with a Nigerian dwarf goat.

JoJo and Ryan rush back to the railway station to catch the train, making it just in time. They power walk through the park to reach their last destination, trying to reach the goal of finishing their adventure within five hours.

Their final ride is Expedition Everest and they use the Lightning Lane. JoJo records the ride from the front row, joking, “Do you know how much core strength that takes to record with a 20-pound camera?”

They complete their speed run of all the rides in Animal Kingdom in five hours, eight minutes. JoJo encourages his viewers to try to beat their record and make a video about it. They discuss the possibility of coming back to Animal Kingdom to try to beat their own record if the vlog receives at least 2000 likes.

[3/5]  It’s refreshing to see someone new on a riding every ride vlog, and it’s nice to see attractions included that are outside the usual things JoJo does at DAK.
