JoJo’s World: Boarding Resilient Lady

At the end of the last vlog, JoJo, Jete and J were at the port of Piraeus in Greece, awaiting their boarding time for the Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady. This vlog is a continuation and it starts with them enjoying free shots after eating at a local restaurant. “I wasn’t trying to drink until we got onto the ship at least,” JoJo admits, but the temptation of the free drink proves too strong.

They make their way to the port, only to find out they’ve gone to the wrong location for the shuttle. After a quick taxi ride, they arrive at the proper terminal and are excited to see the ship. J tells JoJo he’s excited about the cruise, saying, “It’s going to be a fun one.”

Once on board, JoJo and Jete are guided to their room. There they find a silver coin, a memento of this being Resilient Lady’s MerMaiden voyage. It’s a copy of the coin that was placed under the keel block during the building of the ship.

After settling in, they head out to explore the ship. They notice several differences from the other Virgin ships they’ve been on, including the color of the lights and the layout of the seats in the main area. They also note the different artwork and decorations around the ship. They’re particularly impressed with the view from the ship, which offers a panorama of the landscape around the port. “I can’t believe I’m just staring at mountains in the distance while it still feels super hot outside,” JoJo marvels.

Jete has to take a nap (like JoJo, he flew into Athens that day), and JoJo has to roust him to get him to go to the sail away party. At the party, JoJo notes that it seems pretty tame compared to those on other voyages he has been on. That doesn’t hinder JoJo paying particular attention to the unlimited champagne during the party. “Drink up!” he tells himself, as if he needed any encouragement. J enlivens the party by dancing. Jete tries to do something similar, but doesn’t quite have the same skill as J.

For dinner, JoJo and Jete go to Extra Virgin, an Italian restaurant they haven’t tried on their previous cruises. Being seated, JoJo once again has the thought that someone may think he’s gay and asks Jete, “How many people do you think think we are on a date right now?” Jete laughs, not caring. They enjoy a variety of dishes, including a charcuterie board, artichoke appetizer, calamari, steak, and seafood pasta. They’re pleased with the quality and quantity of the food, noting that it’s all included in the price of the cruise.

After dinner, they attend a show called Persephone. It’s a show J was originally cast to perform in. They’re impressed with the level of entertainment and compare it favorably to a show they saw on a Disney cruise. “This is one of the best cruise ship shows I’ve ever seen, for sure,” JoJo exclaims. J likes the finished product and highly recommends the show to future passengers.

The vlog ends with JoJo and Jete getting ready for a pajama party. JoJo decides to leave his camera behind, but promises to include any extra clips from the party at the end of the vlog. He expresses that he is looking forward to exploring Santorini the next day and encourages viewers to subscribe to see more of their adventures.

[5/5] This vlog is good for anyone wanting to know about boarding the Virgin Voyages ship in Greece. Also, the ship’s Extra Virgin restaurant, sail away party, Persephone show, and pajama party. JoJo also looks at how this new ship is both similar and different to the line’s other two ships.
