This is the fifth in JoJo’s vlog series about traveling to Greece and going on the “MerMaiden” voyage of Virgin Voyages’ ship Resilient Lady. The cruise is for seven nights and is called the “Greek Island Glow” cruise.

It’s 9am aboard the Resilient Lady and JoJo is awake after “dancing and partying all last night”. Jete is still in bed, but JoJo says he is about to wake him up. JoJo wants Jete to come with him to explore the area at this day’s port of call, Bodrum, Turkey. However, rather than waking Jete, JoJo goes back to bed instead. He explains afterward that he realized that night is Scarlet Night and he needs to be more rested to fully enjoy it.

After the additional sleep, JoJo finally awakens Jete. JoJo immediately puts a camera in Jete’s face, teasing him by saying this is how celebrities live their life. Jete is used to the camera and plays along.

Exploring the port

They leave the ship to explore the port area, where JoJo admires the views. “Every location we’ve been to so far is just so aesthetically pleasing,” he says.

JoJo explains to viewers that he and Jete are “explorers”, and they love walking in with no context for what they see. However, he points out that today is their first shore excursion on this cruise, so they need to be more mindful of what they do. He reveals that their shore excursion will be a trip to a Turkish bathhouse. They need to get back to the ship to check in, and they don’t want to be late for that.

While looking at some “Pirates of the Caribbean” themed party boats docked in the port, JoJo and Jete discuss traveling to Paris. What JoJo says makes it seem like he’s just bouncing the idea off of Jete, but the way he says it is typical of when JoJo is being deceitful with viewers. It’s not clear why he deliberately tries to be deceptive about future plans. It’s doubtful that it generates any additional views for his vlogs, so maybe it’s just for the thrill of it.

The Turkish bathhouse excursion

JoJo and Jete go back onto the ship to pick up J and check in for their excursion. Accomplishing that, they all leave the boat and get on a bus for the 30 minute ride to the bathhouse.

At the bathhouse, JoJo asks Jete and J how they’re feeling about it. J says “I’m a little excited.” Jete says, “I’m not good at relaxing, so this is going to be like a challenge, honestly.” JoJo says, “I actually really hope that we can take this time and de-stress and relax.” (Who knew that someone who is on vacation every day of their life, like JoJo, needed to de-stress?) To emphasize how tough his life of partying is, JoJo states that Scarlet Night will be stressful for him. Jete, on the other hand, has a more a normal attitude about it and says that for him it will be stressfree.

To begin their Turkish bath experience, the three sit together in the steam room. Then JoJo gets a good scrubbing by an attendant. After the cleaning is complete, JoJo is relaxed and has a drink. J is having a pedicure, and JoJo decides to get one too. Meanwhile, Jete gets a facial. All in all, they enjoy their afternoon and experience at the bathhouse.

The trio takes the bus back to the ship and they reboard. Needing more sleep, JoJo decides to get room service and then takes a nap. He wakes up still feeling tired, but believes he has to push himself to go out, because of the importance he attaches to Scarlet Night.

Scarlet Night on Resilient Lady

After getting up, dressing up, and going out, JoJo walks around the Scarlet Night areas. He shows an activity called Missed Connections, in which you write a message for someone and then hand it to them, or if you don’t want to or can’t because they are not there, you can just write it down and pin it up for display. JoJo writes “wish you were here”, but doesn’t say who it’s for, even though J asks him. If it were for a girlfriend, a person would likely say who they are. Instead, JoJo says it’s a secret. Maybe it’s for his not-so-secret forever crush, Taya Miller.

Moving on, JoJo shows scenes of the entertainment happening in various spots on the ship. JoJo gets an early spot by the pool, and eventually, the crowd comes and the entertainers line the pool deck and do their thing. JoJo watches for a while, but then he and Jete go to the game room and play Jenga with two girls. “Our Scarlet Night is going in a different direction,” JoJo says.

Later, Jete and JoJo go dancing. The end of the vlog cuts to JoJo the next morning saying he forgot to end the vlog during Scarlet Night. Jete euphemistically says that he himself was “busy”. We can only guess what that means.
